Winter-Spring 2012: Harold Varmus commission to be unveiled at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The National Portrait Gallery has acquired one of the preliminary oil studies for this portrait for their permanent collection.

June 16 - July 22, 2012: "Jon Friedman, Notables and Friends, Contemporary Portraits": a survey of oil studies on prepared paper for public commissions and private portraits, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Cotuit, Massachusetts

 

Recent Events

November 10, 2011: Unveiling of Lee Anderson's portrait and dedication of the Lee Anderson Veteran's Center at the US Chamber of Commerce Headquarters in Washington, DC.

May 21st 2011: Unveiling of  Jehuda Reinharz portrait commissioned by Brandeis University.

May 17th 2011: Installation of Bill and Melinda Gates portrait commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery as part of the museum's "Recent Acquisitions" exhibition. The painting will be on permanent display at the Museum.

November-December 2010: a one-person exhibition of landscape paintings and portrait studies at the Alan Klotz Gallery in Chelsea, New York City.

The December 2010 issue of The Pastel Journal carries a richly illustrated feature article on my early pastel work.
